NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED FOR THE 12TH ANNUAL CEREMONY ON SUNDAY, MAY 15, 2011

(New York, NY – May 5, 2011) Nominations have been announced for the 12th Annual Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards. The nominations, which honor the best of the 2010-2011 season, were chosen by online theater fans in 16 categories.

Sister Act topped the list of this year’s honorees, receiving 9 nominations in total including Favorite Musical. Stars Daniel Radcliffe, Patti LuPone, Patina Miller, John Larroquette, Norbert Leo Butz and Sutton Foster were also honored in multiple categories. Composer and lyricist team Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman from Catch Me If You Can received two nominations in the unique category of Favorite Song, for the songs “Fly, Fly Away” and “Live In Living Color”, while Alan Menken and Glenn Slater were also honored in the same category with “Raise Your Voice” and “Take Me To Heaven” from Sister Act.

Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo grabs a Favorite Play nomination alongside The Motherf**ker With The Hat , while Driving Miss Daisy racks up four nominations including Favorite Play Revival and Favorite Onstage Pair honoring James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave.

Billie Joe Armstrong of American Idiot and Christie Brinkley in Chicago were called out as Favorite Replacements while Nick Adams received a nod for Favorite Diva Performance in Pricilla Queen of the Desert alongside Patti LuPone in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

A complete list of this year’s nominations is listed below. Beginning today, fans will be able to vote for their favorite in each category on Broadway.com. The winners will be announced live at the ceremony on Sunday, May 15 at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center – The Allen Room.
